The progenitor Nicola Tiberino, in the late 1800s, started the business in a small store in the historic center of \u003cstrong\u003eBari\u003c\/strong\u003e. After a few years, his sons Raffaele and Tommaso joined their father and the business soon transformed into the historic wholesale of foodstuffs and then, in the early 1920s, of various kinds.\u003cbr\u003e In the early postwar years Raffaele's son, Nicola, joined the company, expanding its reach to all of Europe, quickly transforming the business into an import-export of specialty foodstuffs; from here to Sudalimenta the step was short. In 1999, with the entry into the family business of Nicola's son, who, according to tradition, bears the name of his grandfather Raffaele, the activity is perfected by specializing in the production of \u003cstrong\u003efirst dehydrated dishes\u003c\/strong\u003e ready-to-cook and marketing of typical Italian products.\u003cbr\u003e In 2007 they were the first in history to design and create a menu for astronauts. They faced specific and really special needs but they never gave up! Eventually they succeeded and had the satisfaction of bringing Italian cuisine among the stars, on the Discovery STS-120 mission. Since then, ESA has used Tiberino products for Italian menus and bonus food for its astronauts on missions to the ISS (International Space Station). From Paolo Nespoli, to Vettori and Luca Parmitano: our astronauts can count on a good Italian meal even when they are far from home! \u003cbr\u003e Tiberino also participated with its products in the famous Vendée Globe, sailing competition, a solo round-the-world voyage that goes from France to Antarctica and then returns to the port of Les Sables-d'Olonne.
