With as many as six wineries distributed in the major districts of the island, Planeta is able to offer a range of labels of great territorial adherence, unique in its kind.\u003cbr\u003eUlmo in Sambuca di Sicilia, Dispensa in Menfi, Dorilli in Vittoria, Buonivini in Noto, Feudo di Mezzo on Etna in Castiglione di Sicilia, and finally La Baronia in Capo Milazzo. These are the key places of a winemaking enterprise that sees its modern journey begin in 1995, but has a history and tradition behind it that has been handed down for as many as 17 generations and since the 16th century. It is a journey around Sicily and its greatest wines, for a project, that of Planeta wineries, aimed as much at the past as at the future, as well as wonderfully immersed in the present.\u003cbr\u003eIn fact,on the one hand there is a deep connection with the oldest Sicilian winemaking tradition and its heritage of indigenous varieties: Grecanico, Carricante, Moscato di Noto, Frappato, Nerello Mascalese and Nero d'Avola. On the other, instead, Planeta measures itself with the greatest producers in the world with the so-called international, grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Merlot and Syrah: great classics of oenology interpreted by a territory capable of characterizing them in an unmistakable way. Currently, the estate vineyards reach a total extension of no less than 370 hectares for a production of about 2,3 million bottles, in which the vines are raised and cared for with the utmost respect for the environment. Philosophy that we find in the management of the entire company, guided with the same style that is found between the rows and thus protecting the landscape, by resorting to the use of renewable energies, and recycling materials and resources. In the winery, the fruit is always processed with a view to enhancing its peculiarities and intrinsic characteristics.
