And even today those lucky enough to uncork a bottle from the 1980s get to enjoy its finesse. Thanks to the excellent quality of its wines, in a short time the winery built a worldwide reputation.
Around the beginning of the 1990s, Antonio, son of the lawyer, began to follow the winery personally assisted by Maurizio Castelli, still today the winery's oenologist and reference consultant. The choice was made from the beginning to vinify in cement, despite it being a method in disuse. This was because obtaining thermal stability and working in the absence of magnetic fields would have been impossible using steel tanks.

To the sorting of grapes in the vineyard, since 2008 an additional selection is added on the belt, where six to eight people evaluate each bunch eliminating any defects that may not have been noticed during the harvest. In this way, the certainty of making wine onlySangiovese grapes that are healthy and ripe to the right point is guaranteed.
Also in 2008, several years after the death of lawyer Mastrojanni, the sons sold the winery to the Illy family.
