The company is based in Tirano where both the production facility, and the original 17th-century aging cellars located inside Palazzo Salis (the winery's historic headquarters) are located. The seventeenth-century cellars of the Palazzo, dug into the stone, house the \u003cstrong\u003ewines\u003c\/strong\u003e destined for long aging in \u003cstrong\u003ebottles\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003ebarriques\u003c\/strong\u003e, and subsequent bottle aging. Conti Sertoli Salis has linked its name to wine production for more than four hundred years: as early as the mid-1700s, in fact, the noble family supplied, the Court of the Habsburg Emperor and some of the noble families of Graubünden in Valtellina with the finest Valtellina wines,. Its \u003cstrong\u003eterraced vineyards\u003c\/strong\u003e extend on the Rhaetian slope (with an east-west orientation and northern exposure) for some fifty kilometers and reach as high as 700 meters above sea level. Given the conformation and position of the terraces, vineyard care is carried out manually, as is the harvest. Along the lines of continuity and respect for local production traditions, Conti Sertoli Salis has concretized the recovery of ancient native vines and enhanced particular winemaking methods, also through careful technical and historical research, in order to obtain and produce quality wines that are an expression of the territory. In these vineyards, the \u003cstrong\u003eNebbiolo\u003c\/strong\u003e grape variety (Chiavennasca variety) finds the right environment to develop its potential with great elegance and finesse.\u003cbr\u003e The winery includes the most important types envisaged by the production regulations.
