{"title":"Antica Tenuta Giovanna Azienda Agricola Biologica","description":"\u003cp\u003eIn \u003cstrong\u003e1932,\u003c\/strong\u003e the Aquilani family purchased a farm in Montalto di Castro in the province of Viterbo, the Tenuta Giovanna, a place-name already found in the oldest cadastral maps, which in 2000 rightly became the Antica Tenuta Giovanna organic farm.\u003cbr \/\u003eSince the distant 1930s, many things have changed.\u0026nbsp;\u003cbr \/\u003eBack then, the rearing of Sopravissana sheep together with the cultivation of durum wheat were the main activities.\u003cbr \/\u003eIn the 1970s there was the introduction of intensive cultivation, made possible by the abundance of water provided by a river whose meandering course runs through the entire farm.\u003cbr \/\u003eBy the end of the 1990s, however, it was already clear that this was a development model that was no longer sustainable either for the environment or for consumers because it involved the excessive use of chemicals.\u003cbr \/\u003eIt was then in the early days of organic farming. The Aquilani family decided, with conviction, that it was time to take a turn and convert the farm to organic.\u003cbr \/\u003eThey decided that the course to follow was not to repeat in organic farming the crops that were being grown in conventional farming, but to rediscover old crops that had been abandoned because they were not very productive but were very healthy from a nutritional point of view.\u003cbr \/\u003eSpelt, which had not been grown in the area since time immemorial, was reintroduced and the first hectare of lavender was planted (there are now four).\u003cbr \/\u003eKhorasan wheat was an almost impossible challenge. Today, thanks to perseverance in cultivation and, above all, marketing, various pasta shapes are produced with Khorasan wheat, as well as a popular wholemeal flour for making pasta at home.\u003cbr \/\u003eThe line of gluten-free products, such as millet, buckwheat, amaranth and flax, and the cultivation of goji are the latest additions to a company that is always evolving, thanks also to the new generation, which has brought further sap to the family tendency to always seek new paths.\u003c\/p\u003e","products":[],"url":"https:\/\/destination-gusto-produzione.myshopify.com\/en\/collections\/antica-tenuta-giovanna.oembed","provider":"Destination Gusto","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
